Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong to bring sparkle and excitement to the city this June

Special-edition fair is Hong Kong’s first in-person jewellery and gemstone sourcing event of the year

HONG KONG, 17 May 2022 – Professional buyers and jewellery lovers will once again be able to experience the energy and excitement of Hong Kong’s most awaited jewellery fair this summer – Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA) Special Edition, which is taking place from 16 to 19 June at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).

The first show of its kind to be held in the city this year, JGA is aiming for a repeat of its highly successful and innovative staging last year, which saw the show floor packed and exhibitors enjoying robust sales throughout the four-day event. The 2021 special edition drew 9,078 unique visitors (34% trade and 66% non-trade) who made 10,608 visits during the show. Its 19 seminars attracted a combined audience of more than 500 attendees and its livestreaming videos broadcast in Mandarin drew 17,198 views.

This June, JGA aspires to deliver another rewarding and enjoyable product discovery journey in a format that is responsive to the current sourcing requirements of both trade buyers and jewellery lovers.

Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery, underscored the significance of the special-edition event in creating additional cross-market opportunities and onsite sales for exhibitors while at the same time rekindling the market’s passion for jewellery shopping through its education-focused “I Love Jewellery” seminar and workshop series, and exclusive, limited-time jewellery offers.

New collections

Guaranteed to delight and inspire buyers at JGA are showcases that span the entire jewellery supply chain, from precious raw materials such as loose diamonds, coloured gemstones and pearls to finished jewellery in a wide range of price points and styles.

In the ever-popular diamond jewellery category, renowned manufacturers Legrand Jewellery (Mfg) Co Ltd, Polaris Jewellery Manufacturer Ltd and Front Top Jewelry Manufacturer Ltd are presenting necklaces and earrings in designs that defy trends and fads.

One of Legrand’s exceptional creations is a flower-inspired pendant embellished with diamonds and set on a cut-out blossom that beautifully outlines the main pendant, giving it depth and volume.  

Polaris is likewise reimagining classic diamond huggie earrings with subtle details such as baguette diamonds, which give these everyday fine accessories additional sparkle. 

Front Top is playing up the unbeatable heart design with its classic necklace featuring an open heart diamond pendant and a solid gold charm. 

Coloured gemstones are among the stars in Nelson Jewellery Arts Co Ltd, Fook Tai Jewellery Group Ltd and HYT Jewelry’s collections.

A butterfly brooch with wings made of tourmalines, sapphires, rubies and diamonds from Nelson Jewellery Arts is sure to get a lot of attention. Brooches are so versatile that this exceptional item may be worn in various ways – as a pendant, a hair ornament or even as a belt showpiece.

J Ocean Pearl Jewellery is bringing its wide selection of pearl stud earrings, strands and loose pearls. Sure to beckon buyers is a “candy” necklace made of Akoya pearls measuring 8mm to 8.5mm in diameter. 

Impressive jadeite displays are among the key attractions of JGA, with Ying Fung Jewellery Ltd and Kam Wah Gem Co all set to unveil collections in contemporary designs. Additionally, JGA is presenting engaging talks and workshops by experts from the world of jewellery and gemstones. Taking place at JGA’s I Love Jewellery Salon, the signature sessions include seminars led by the Tahitian Pearl Association Hong Kong and gemmologists Humphrey Yen of The Hong Kong Institute of Gemmology (HKIG) and Dr. Miro Fei-Yeung Ng, lecturer at L’ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, and Founder and President of the Centre for Gemmological Research (CGR), among others.

Visitors should also not miss the chance to experience live demonstrations of jewellery craftsmanship and sign up for hands-on workshops hosted by the Hatton Jewellery Institute.
